Site Mechanical, fire & electrical services

Precise Group

Three companies, three slow WordPress sites. We rebuilt them as one codebase and one CMS, where every page, article and project is ticked onto the sites it belongs to.

Before

Three websites, three times the work.

Precise Group is a national building services company: Precise Air for mechanical services, Precise Fire for fire protection, AirGene for air hygiene, with offices from Perth to Brisbane. Each company had its own WordPress site. All three were slow, all three looked like different decades, and a piece of news relevant to the group had to be posted three times, in three admin panels, by whoever had the login.

The brands are distinct on purpose. The work behind them is not. The brief was one system that could tell them apart.

What we built · 01

One codebase, three sites, one tick box.

A single pre-rendered SvelteKit codebase that builds three times, once per brand, from one content folder. Every page, capability, article and project has a site field: tick Precise Air, tick Precise Fire, tick AirGene, or all three, and it appears on each with that brand's navigation, footer, colours and metadata. 309 content items today, 173 of them news, and the ones about the group are shared. Shared components, three accents: the navy and red of Precise Air, Fire's orange, AirGene's green.

The team edits it all in CloudCannon with live preview. A story about the group is written once and published to whichever brands it belongs to.

What we built · 02

Handed over, and used.

The leaders, 61 projects, 42 capability pages and the news archive came across, with 422 redirects so that nothing linked from the old three sites goes dark. Since then two people at Precise have published 273 changes themselves: new projects, news, careers, the safety and ESG pages. Images live in a Cloudflare bucket and are resized on the edge, search runs on a static index per brand, and enquiry forms post to Basin.

Theirs to keep.

The three sites build from one repository in Precise Group's own CloudCannon organisation, with images in their own Cloudflare bucket. Adding a fourth brand is a fourth build and a fourth tick box, not a fourth website.
