An Australian insulation and foam manufacturer since 1987, with no online store to match its products. We built a headless store, with Shopify behind a SvelteKit storefront and Sanity for content: fast, reliable, and updated by their own team.

Insulation since 1987. A website that finally keeps up.

Thermotec has manufactured closed-cell polyethylene foam, thermal insulation and acoustic products in Sydney since 1987, for trades, builders and industries from packaging to bedding. The products were reliable, but buying them online was not. They asked for a store that works as dependably as the products, shows a large technical range clearly, and that their team can update themselves.

What we built · 01

A technical catalogue that's easy to browse.

We built a headless store: the shop system and the storefront customers see are separate. Shopify holds the products, their options, the orders and the checkout. A SvelteKit storefront builds the category and product pages from it, designed for a catalogue where the specification matters as much as the picture. Content, from category introductions to guides, is kept in Sanity, the editor the team writes in, so they can add a product line or rewrite a page without a developer.

Thermotec today

Made in Sydney, exported overseas.

Established in 1987, Thermotec runs a factory and warehouse of more than 10,000 square metres in Sydney. It has exported its Australian-made products to markets from New Zealand and Singapore to the UAE and the UK. It develops customised foams for individual customers and serves the insulation, building, acoustic, leisure, packaging and bedding industries. As of September 2026, the store runs on what we built.
