The Short Answer

A$34 a month for one person, about A$34 to A$43 a seat for a business.

Claude Pro costs A$34 a month in Australia, or A$340 a year, about A$28 a month, and the prices Anthropic shows an Australian visitor include 10% GST. Max costs A$170 or A$340 a month for five or twenty times Pro's usage, billed monthly only.

For a business, Team is the plan that changes the terms: A$43 a seat a month, or A$34 billed yearly, for two to 150 people, with Premium seats at A$213, or A$170 yearly, for the heaviest users. On Team and Enterprise your chats are not used to train Anthropic's models by default; on Free, Pro and Max that depends on a setting.

Enterprise is US$20 a seat a month billed yearly, from 20 seats, plus every token at API rates, and it is priced in US dollars.

The parts people expect to pay extra for are included. Claude for Small Business, 43 ready-made workflows that work inside Xero, MYOB, Square, Shopify and other tools, comes with every paid plan, and so do the directory's connectors and Cowork, the Claude desktop agent.

What costs money is the setting up: the right plan, connectors with the right permissions, instructions that teach Claude your business, and a team that knows how to use it. Australian providers publish A$450 to A$1,500 plus GST for one session; we start at $1,500, and a custom connector for software that has none is typically $3,000 to $8,000.

Setting It Up

What it costs to have Claude set up properly.

Setting It Up

The plan is a monthly bill. Making it useful is a one-off job, and this is what Australian providers publish for it.

Worked Example

Five people on Claude for a year.

A five-person office on Xero and Google Workspace moves from personal ChatGPT and Claude accounts to one business account, so the chats stay out of model training and the owner controls what is connected.

Everyone gets a Team Standard seat billed yearly, the Xero and Google connectors and Claude for Small Business are switched on, and the instructions are written once for the whole office.

A heavy user changes the sum, not the plan. Moving one person to a Premium seat adds A$1,632 a year billed yearly and gives them five times the usage. Quitine, an online store we built, works the same way at its own scale: the client changes the store's pages from his own Claude, through instructions we wrote and a connector to its content editor.
Who Does This

Who sets up Claude for businesses in Australia, and what to ask them.

  1. 01

Which plan, and why not a cheaper one.

Team for any business with staff. It is the plan where chats stay out of training by default and the owner controls the connectors.

  2. 02

    Who owns the account.

Your business, on your card, with you as the owner. Whoever installs it should be a member you can remove.

  3. 03

    What each connector may change.

Read-only first, then a written list of what Claude may change in Xero, the CRM or the inbox, and what waits for approval.

  4. 04

What the instructions cover, and who keeps them current.

A skill that knows your business and is updated when your systems change, not a page of prompts handed over once.

  5. 05

    Where the data goes.

Anthropic is a US company. Under Australian Privacy Principle 8 you answer for personal information you send overseas, so ask what goes where.

  6. 06

    We do.

Croissant & Baguette is a small studio with a network of Australian specialists. We connect Claude to the software a business already runs, write the instructions that teach it the business, and build a connector where none exists, as we have for an online store and a buyer's agent.

    Built in Australia, never offshored.

Our Price List

What we charge.

Our Price List
Automation Opportunity Assessment one meeting · a written proposal, priced
free
Automation build one process end to end, or an AI app · 12 months of bug fixes
from $8,000 typically $10–30k
Claude & ChatGPT connector your own Claude or ChatGPT, connected to your software
from $1,500 custom connectors typically $3–8k
Managed monitoring, fixes, monthly report · changes quoted
from $250/month

What moves a set-up within those ranges:

  • how many tools you connect, and whether each already has a connector
  • how much of your business the instructions have to cover
  • what Claude may change on its own, and what waits for approval
  • how many people, and how many teams with different jobs
  • a custom connector for software that has none

Why the set-up costs more than a month of Claude

Because the plan is the cheap part. A Team seat costs less each month than an hour of an admin's time. What makes it useful is connecting it to the business with the right permissions and teaching it how you work, and that is either done once, properly, or redone every week by whoever is using it.

Fair Questions

Ask away.

Nine things people ask about Claude's prices. Still one missing? Ask us.

How much is Claude Pro in AUD?

A$34 a month, or A$340 a year, which works out at about A$28 a month, as Anthropic's pricing page showed it to an Australian visitor on 22 October 2026, with GST included. Bought inside the iPhone app, Apple charges A$30 a month instead. Pro gives at least five times the Free plan's usage per session and adds Claude Code, Cowork and projects.

Is Claude available in Australia?

Yes. Australia is on Anthropic's list of supported countries, and its prices are shown to Australian visitors in Australian dollars with GST included. Anthropic opened a Sydney office in April 2026. Your data is still processed overseas: Anthropic's own options are the United States or global. A business that needs it kept in Australia can use Claude through Amazon Bedrock, which can keep it between Sydney and Melbourne.

Does Claude charge GST in Australia?

Yes, the Australian prices include 10% GST. Anthropic's billing settings have an optional tax ID field, but its help centre does not say whether entering an ABN removes the GST, and a GST-registered Anthropic Australia Pty Ltd has existed since December 2025. Check which company your invoice comes from, and ask your accountant how to treat it before you claim the GST back.

What is the difference between Claude Team Premium and Max?

Who it is for. Max is a personal plan at A$170 or A$340 a month, with five or twenty times Pro's usage. A Team Premium seat costs A$213 a month, or A$170 billed yearly, gives five times a Standard seat's usage, and sits inside a business account with single sign-on, admin control of connectors and no training on your content by default.

Does the Claude Team plan have SSO?

Yes. Single sign-on comes with Team, along with central billing, admin control of remote and local connectors, skills shared across the organisation and no model training on your content by default. Enterprise adds what larger organisations need on top: user provisioning through SCIM, audit logs, role-based access, IP allowlisting, custom data retention and spending limits per person and per organisation.

Is Claude for Small Business free?

It costs nothing on top of a paid plan. Anthropic says it is available on every paid Claude plan and recommends Team for a business with more than one person. Expanded on 15 September 2026, it holds 43 ready-made workflows, such as closing the month or paying the bills, that work inside connected tools including Xero, MYOB, Square, Stripe and Shopify and start in approval mode.

Does Claude use my business data for training?

Not on Team or Enterprise: Anthropic's commercial terms say it may not train models on customer content, unless you join its development partner programme. On Free, Pro and Max a Model Improvement setting decides, and Anthropic's pricing table lists training there as opt-out. If you allow it, de-identified chats may be kept for up to five years; if not, deleted chats go within 30 days.

Is Claude Team cheaper than ChatGPT Business?

About the same. ChatGPT Business is US$25 a seat a month, or US$20 billed yearly, and OpenAI's Australian page shows A$28; Claude Team Standard is A$43, or A$34 yearly, with GST included. Both start at two seats and keep business data out of training by default. Microsoft 365 Copilot Business is A$31.40 a seat a month paid yearly, plus GST, on top of a Microsoft 365 plan.

Can Claude connect to Xero and MYOB?

Yes. Both publish official connectors in Claude's directory, Xero since April 2026 and MYOB since July 2026, at no extra cost from Anthropic. What they can read and change, and how to connect them without risking your books, is in our guide to Claude, ChatGPT and Xero.
