# Education and training

https://croissantbaguette.com.au/industries/education/

Websites and apps for institutes, training providers and schools: course pages your staff edit, directories and learning apps. Four editors, not one, at NIODA.

**Service:** Websites and apps for education and training providers (Website and app development)

Croissant & Baguette builds websites and apps for education and training providers in Australia, including the website of a not-for-profit higher education institute that four of its staff now edit, a directory of more than 950 excursion venues for teachers, and a learning app that runs on a venue's own phones.

- **Website build** from A$9,000 — A website for an institute, school or training provider, with courses, events and staff profiles your team edits. From $9,000, typically $9–18k.
- **Web app** from A$15,000 — A directory, portal or booking system, built around how you work. From $15,000, typically $20–45k.
- **Mobile app** from A$10,000 — iOS and Android, added to a web app. From $10,000, typically $10–30k.
- **Care plan** from A$250 a month — Updates and small changes, or the managed plan if an app uses AI. From $250 a month.

## Websites and apps for education and training providers.

We build course websites your own staff keep up to date, directories teachers use to plan, and learning apps that keep working on a museum floor. Every course, event and staff profile is edited without a developer, and pages load in under a second.

- **1 → 4 people who can edit the site** — NIODA · hundreds of changes published by staff (https://croissantbaguette.com.au/projects/nioda/)
- **0.8s fully loaded** — NIODA · the WordPress site took ten seconds or more (https://croissantbaguette.com.au/projects/nioda/)
- **950+ venues in a directory for teachers** — Edtripper · every state and territory (https://croissantbaguette.com.au/projects/edtripper/)
- **30 days to build and launch an app** — Edtripper · app, venue editor and device dashboard (https://croissantbaguette.com.au/projects/edtripper/)

## Where education websites fall behind.

Course details change every term: dates, fees, entry requirements, who's teaching. On many sites only one person can change them safely, so everything waits for that person. Sites assembled page by page in a drag-and-drop builder have no template to follow. Every new course or event is laid out from scratch, and each one ends up looking a little different. Events, staff profiles and research sit in separate places, so a lecturer's page doesn't list their articles, and last year's events stay on the homepage. And teachers plan around the curriculum. A listing that doesn't say which subject and year group it suits is one they skip.

## What we build for education and training.

Each of these runs today: at a not-for-profit higher education institute, a directory teachers use to plan excursions, and a sports programme run inside schools.

- **A course website your staff edit** Courses, events, staff profiles and research are records with their own fields, not pages typed out by hand. A new course uses the same blocks as the others, so it looks right without anyone designing it. Staff see the real page as they type, and publish it themselves. — For institutes, colleges and training providers with courses, events and staff to keep current. — A not-for-profit higher education institute offering a master's degree, a graduate diploma and certificate, a PhD and workshops. Its WordPress site took ten seconds a page and only the chief executive could safely change it; four staff now publish their own changes. — Changes no longer wait for one person, and pages load in 0.8 seconds. — NIODA
  - **A new course is entered** with its details, pricing and what to expect, in CloudCannon.
  - **It takes the shared course blocks** so it matches every other course, with no design work.
  - **Staff preview the real page** as they type, before anything is published.
  - **The site rebuilds** and its search index is updated with it.
  - [Read the NIODA case study](https://croissantbaguette.com.au/projects/nioda/)
- **A directory teachers use** Every listing says which subjects and year groups it suits, and teachers filter by them. Each visitor sees their own state first. Every page carries labels that search engines read, because teachers find what they need through search. — For businesses that list venues, courses or resources for teachers. — More than 950 venues across every state and territory, with verified badges and booking links. The founder adds venues and articles by asking their own AI assistant, which follows instructions we wrote for the site. — A directory of more than 950 venues, run by the business without a developer. — Edtripper
  - **A teacher searches** for an excursion by subject, year group and type of venue.
  - **Their state comes first** worked out from the web address, then a cookie, then their location.
  - **The listing answers the planning questions** amenities and booking links, with articles that show the curriculum outcomes.
  - **New venues are added by asking** the founder's own AI assistant, through the instructions we wrote.
  - [Read the Edtripper case study](https://croissantbaguette.com.au/projects/edtripper/)
- **A sign-up site for a programme in schools** One visit explains the programme to parents, with a page each for parents, schools and teachers, and a registration form short enough to finish on a phone. New regions and schools are added in the editor as the programme grows, without rebuilding the site. — For programmes run in schools that need parents to register. — A national kids' sports programme led by schools' own teachers and shaped by professional athletes. The team publishes its programs, venues and FAQs itself. — Parents understand the programme in one visit and can register from their phone. — Rookies
  - **A parent opens the page for parents** which explains how the programme works for their child.
  - **They register** on a form short enough to finish on a phone.
  - **The team adds a camp or a session** in CloudCannon, the day it changes.
  - **A new school is added** without rebuilding the site.

## Included in every education website.

- **Courses as records, not pages.** Dates, fees, entry requirements and who teaches, entered once and shown everywhere the course appears.
- **Provider codes where they belong.** An RTO or CRICOS code is set once and shown on every course page that needs it.
- **Events that sort themselves.** Upcoming and past, by date, in your own time zone.
- **Staff profiles linked to their work.** Qualifications, teaching and publications, with every article linked to its author.
- **Accessible to WCAG AA.** Usable with a keyboard or a screen reader, by students, families and staff.
- **Edited by your staff.** Several people can publish, each seeing the real page as they type.
- **Little or no student data.** Our apps keep only what the job needs. Edtripper's keeps a first name, an initial and an avatar for one visit, then wipes them.
- **No lock-in.** The code, the editor and the hosting are in your name, documented so another developer could take over.

**Connected for education clients so far.**

Every name here runs on an education site or app we built.

CloudCannon, Sanity, JotForm, Cloudflare, Android, Hexnode, Claude, Resend

Learning and student systems such as Moodle or Canvas connect through their APIs, and we check what yours allows before we quote.

## Built for education.

- **Higher education institute** Ten seconds a page on WordPress, and one person who could change it. Now four staff publish their own changes, and pages load in 0.8 seconds. (https://croissantbaguette.com.au/projects/nioda/)
- **Directory and learning app** Over 950 excursion venues listed for teachers, plus an Android app that takes school groups through a venue on its own phones, built in 30 days. (https://croissantbaguette.com.au/projects/edtripper/)
- **Programme run in schools** A launch site for a national kids' sports programme run by schools' own teachers, built so parents can register from a phone. (https://croissantbaguette.com.au/projects/rookies/)

## What it costs.

- **Website build** from $9,000 (for an institute, school or training provider)
- **Web app** from $15,000 (a directory, portal or booking system)
- **Mobile app** from $10,000 (iOS and Android, added to a web app)

## Questions educators ask.

Six questions we hear from schools, institutes and training providers. Have another one? Ask us.

- **Have you built a school's own website?** Not yet a school's own site. We've built for a not-for-profit higher education institute, a directory teachers use to plan excursions, and a sports programme that runs inside schools. A school site needs the same parts: pages staff can update, events, staff profiles and a short enquiry or enrolment form.
- **Can several staff update the site without breaking it?** Yes. Pages are built from set blocks, so a new course or event matches the rest without anyone designing it, and every editor sees the real page before publishing. At NIODA, one editor became four, and we made four edits ourselves in six months.
- **Can people enrol and pay through the site?** Yes. A course page can embed the enrolment form you already use, as NIODA's does with JotForm, or link to your enrolment system. If you need enrolment and payment built into the site itself, that's a web app, priced in the list above.
- **Do you build learning apps?** Yes. Edtripper's app runs school excursions on phones the venue owns: students follow a trail of questions, the teacher sees everyone's progress live, and it keeps working when the wifi drops. It went from the first line of code to phones in 30 days.
- **How do you handle student privacy?** We keep as little as the job needs. Edtripper's app knows a student by a first name, an initial and an avatar for one visit, then wipes them. Questions drafted by AI wait for an educator's approval, and we document which AI providers see what.
- **Do you work with not-for-profits?** Yes. NIODA is a not-for-profit higher education institute. A pre-rendered site costs close to nothing to host, which matters when every dollar is accounted for, and staff can make changes without paying a developer each time.
